Jane Fonda has a plan to get arrested every Friday for 14 weeks, and it's going pretty well so far.

The Oscar-winning actress and activist recently moved to Washington, D.C. and on Friday participated in a climate change protest at the U.S. Capitol. As planned, she was arrested by Capitol Police, along with 15 other demonstrators. Fonda, who is between seasons of Netflix's Grace and Frankie, told The Washington Post this is just the first demonstration of many throughout the next several months.

"I'm going to take my body, which is kind of famous and popular right now because of the [television] series and I’m going to go to D.C. and I'm going to have a rally every Friday,” Fonda said. “It’ll be called 'Fire Drill Friday.' And we're going to engage in civil disobedience and we're going to get arrested every Friday."

Fonda explained to the Post that she was especially inspired by Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate change activist who recently urged world leaders to take action at the United Nations General Assembly. After reading about Thunberg, "the urgency came into my DNA the way it hadn't before," Fonda told the Post.

In a Los Angeles Times interview, Fonda said the "most important" change she's calling for with her 14 weeks of protests "is to stop all new leasing permits for any fossil fuel development on public lands and waters" because "no matter what we do, if that doesn’t stop, we're doomed." She also explained she actually planned to keep up these protests for an entire year, but she could only get four months off from Grace and Frankie. Once she's done working on that show's final season, she said, "I'll come right back." Brendan Morrow

You guys remember when former AG Eric Holder met privately with execs from MSNBC in order to agree on a national narrative that would help Obama and not be critical of his decisions or policies?

Oh you don't?

Because that never happened and it'd be fucking insane if it did and the Republicans would have impeached Holder instantly but are now totally cool with it?

That poll was so bad for Trump and the Republican party I am going to link it again https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-results-october-6-8-2019

According to those polled, Donald Trump is more corrupt than previous presidents and responders found this very troubling. And for the first time in the poll, most people think he should be impeached and removed from office.

edit: they released [edit: some of them, still waiting on 13-36] the questions that were held back the other day: 64% of respondents say that the President's allegations around Biden make no difference in their vote [edit: by "vote" it means the potential to vote for Biden here, not Trump]. So the president's Biden-Ukraine stupidity is only hurting himself. Warren, Sanders, and Biden all have great numbers compared to Trump and Pence, and for the first time in the poll, more people think Trump will not be re-elected.

If you're in the propaganda business this poll just told you that you're a failure.

Edit: I'm gonna go ahead and speculate that the omitted questions 13-36 are along the lines of "Republicans, would you be cool with a President Pence/Romney/whoever they're cooking up" What do y'all think?

edit: maybe this?

Seventeen percent of Republican voters told Fox News's pollsters they would prefer that someone other than Trump be the party's nominee, although 77 percent remained steadfastly behind the president.

if you search the Fox News poll results linked in this post, that question is not listed, is that one of the omitted questions?

This is the most amazing thing about Trump.

No matter how many people he's screwed over the years, there are folks who think 'he will not turn on me!'

Getting a pardon from Pence may be the only way for him to avoid jail time, and he threw Pence under the bus last week.
