This really burns me. My husband is ill and his best friend stayed with us for several days. I know the guy is a stickler so I cleaned the house top to bottom.
He comes to me after a day in the guest room to tell me the vent is dirty - - do I have something he can use to clean it? I tell him I will bring the vacuum. We do the vent in his room and then he asks me about the vents in other rooms. I explain there are only a couple up high where I don't habitually clean - - he insists on going to those rooms to help me clean them, while saying things like "maybe you need a housekeeper, my Maria doesn't miss things like this" and "I like to do these little jobs as soon as I notice them so housework doesn't get away from me."
I am not shitting you. Houseguest for four days. My husband has stage four cancer.
I'm sorry the vent in his room was dirty. I really am. But Jesus lord, if I stayed at someone's house under these circumstances, I would clean that vent myself or say nothing.
