A friend of mine has a disability and can't drive, and tried to take the bus home from an appointment. Trying to use what was available, be independent, etc etc.

Construction moved the bus stop, the brochures/online schedules didn't show where the new stop was, so she ended up having to walk a really long way to a stop she did know to get the bus from there.

If your city has great public transport, sure! If it's like mine where it'd take TWO HOURS for a 20 minute drive to work, or having to go 45 minutes out of your way because the buses don't go over a certain bridge---

You're not stuck in traffic, you are the traffic

Yeah but in the uk, nothing is on time and its far to expensive. For me.to.take a train to.work for example works out almost twice the cost of having my car. Which i can also use on weekends.

Where as when i was in the Netherlands it was about £6 for a 2 day pass in a city centre and however many times you needed it you could.

It costs me £6 something for a one way ticket to work. Which is a 15 minute walk from my house and same the other side to my work. Is usually late or delayed.

What am i going to choose 🤷
