Chinese-owned social media app bans such content even in countries where homosexuality has never been illegal.

As well as the general moderation guidelines, described as the “loose version” to moderators, TikTok ran at least two other sets.

Similarly blocked was content about “protecting rights of homosexuals (parade, slogan, etc.)” and “promotion of homosexuality”.

The referenced guidelines regarding LGBTQ content in Turkey are no longer in use, and we have since made significant progress in establishing a more robust localised approach.

TikTok says it has since reversed the policy, and now requires moderators to treat people as under 18 if there was any doubt. »

Israel Canceled the FIFA Palestine Cup for No Apparent Reason

With little reason, the Israeli government made the decision to cancel the Palestinian national football club championship, otherwise known as the FIFA Palestine Cup.

And FIFA must hold Israel to account the way it held apartheid South Africa to account—after much international pressure—decades ago.

If Israel decides unilaterally for FIFA that Palestinian soccer players are not to be afforded this freedom, then it must call into question whether Israel should hold FIFA membership at all. »

White House admits Trump's Ukraine phone call record was moved to secret server

The White House has admitted moving details of a telephone call between Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart to a classified server, according to CNN.

In a statement to CNN, a White House official said staff had been directed by National Security Council lawyers to move records of the call to a server usually used to store classified information.

White House officials say that the call was classified, meaning there was nothing wrong in moving it to that server. »
