When you work retail or fast food. You might not know their names but you start to recognize the “regulars”. If they order the same thing consistently you start making it as soon as you see them.
When I worked at a gas station, there was a customer (who actually did my first tattoo) who liked his PBR warm, but would buy it cold and let it warm before drinking it. He told me this so I started taking a 12 pack out of the cooler every day just so he could have his piss warm PBR. He absolutely appreciated it. It made us both happy.
