I'm Belgian and I didn't even know about this.

EDIT:

"The treaty was formally abrogated in 1936 and Belgium returned to pursuing a policy of neutrality.[3] The Belgian government preferred to construct fortifications and gain assurances of neutrality from surrounding countries, including Nazi Germany, than risk getting entangled in another war through an alliance structure."

looks like we made an oopsie

The Germans did not repeat the Schlieffen Plan, their thrust through Belgium was a diversion that the allies fell for totally, rushing their best divisions forward to meet the German right wing in Belgium even as the main German thrust with massed panzer divisions attacked through the Ardennes Forest pivot point, cutting the advancing allied units off from both the Maginot Line and the rest of France. It was a brilliant misdirection using the lessons and beliefs the allies had from World War 1 against them.
