I agree with the argument that there's no solid cutoff between kids and adults, but part of parenting is preparing your kids to be adults, even if you still see them as kids. So I don't think this type of behavior is going to go away as you transition to adulthood, if they can't get the point of parenting now they probably won't get it later either.

so in the show, infants get an implant that the parents can then monitor on a tablet. It gives vitals and stats as well as visual/audio feed. The implant can also be set to censor unpleasant/scary things. The mother eventually decides she won’t use it anymore as the daughter enters her teens. But then not really actually. So the daughter learns about it all and goes nuts, beating her mother bloody and runs alway after destroying the unit.
To everyone who's commented trying to help me, not to be rude but I'm freshly new to this adulting thing and I honestly have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. I know I don't have to stand up to this shit anymore, I used to have my things broken by my dad and if not that i got hit and I still have the scars on my back to prove it. My door knobs had their locks removed and there's a grate on my door for "airflow" but you can see right through it. I'm working towards being my own person I just don't know how but I'm jumping head first into the deep end. I appreciate the help though.
