This is the progress I've made in just one year of taking pictures of space. The last one got me international recognition. If you love something, keep at it. [Image]

Some context- these were all taken with similar gear from my backyard in Sacramento. What has changed is my knowledge about the hobby and my familiarity with techniques and the tools. Most of what is on the left was taken with a 10" dobsonian telescope. Most of what was on the right was taken with the same scope, except the two planets, which were taken with an 8" SCT. The last image was featured in hundreds of articles and publications worldwide, and has sold hundreds of prints.

This is the scope and camera I used for most of these:

Orion XT10

ZWO ASI224MC

To track my progress into 2020, my instagram is @cosmic_background. In my bio you can find more information about my current gear and find high resolution versions of some of my images, most of which are also in my post history with deeper descriptions as to how they were acquired.

Please feel free to reach out to me on here or on instagram if you would like advice on how to improve your shots. I recommend instagram, as the reddit inbox is a bit trickier to manage and I check it less often.

That last picture of the moon was my phone's wallpaper for a while. Keep up the great work!
