4 years ago I had the honor of being a bone marrow donor to my brother who had stage IV cancer for the 4th time. We just celebrated 4 years CANCER FREE!!
So this day was transplant day, also my and my twin brothers 32nd birthday.
When you receive a bone marrow transplant they consider that your new birthday and celebrate it as such because your immune system is destroyed leading up to the transplant.
Little did we know that my brothers transplant day (New Birthday) would be my and my twins birthday and now we all get to celebrate our lives together!
My brother is one of the strongest people I know and battled stage IV cancer for separate times. Since the transplant he has gained an amazing wife, a new look on life, and a great career.
