Today, over a hundred thousand Hong Kongers held hands and made a human chain around Hong Kong. The human chain even goes up the Lion Rock, a mountain in Hong Kong which represents the unyielding fighting spirit deep inside the citizens.

This operation was so last minute that the it was only completely organized less than one day prior to the operation. I'm genuinely surprised Hong Konger's team spirit and their ability to accomplish something like this. The human chain consists of more than 30 assembly points and the number of people in that particular point was updated live online. So citizens in Hong Kong can check on their phone to go to the points with not enough people to complete the chain. And for once I'm proud to be a Hong Kongers and even more proud to have horrible English.

Edit: 135,000 people participated. The human chain is 60km or 37 mi long.

And it's done so on the 30th anniversary of The Baltic Way, which had over 2 million people form a 600km chain of people holding hands to show desire for independence from the Soviet rule.

I know that in my country (Lithuania) people held hands again today as well to commemorate this day as well as stand in solidarity with Hong Kong going through these rough times now. Lots of hope and best of luck for Hong Kongers!
