My work did this exact same thing when an employee was going through chemo. Management decided to go around and ask people if they wanted to donate their sick days.. Instead of.. Just giving the guy more sick days. Scummy AF
Had an employee whose husband had died. I was more than willing to give her more time off paid if needed, boss denied It, company policy only gives you 3 days. It was her fucking husband of like 40 years. I think we can do better.

Now, when another teacher becomes sick, they will either have to come to work infect the students in their class, or lose their job. great
