You have to get him a friend. Guinea pigs are herd animals and do poorly if they don't have company.

I grew up in a ski town and tourist dumped garbage everywhere so trash piles with things like broken chairs in the snow banks was a common sight. They'd get cleaned up in the spring. Someone dumped a good size cage in the ski mountain parking lot next to my grandpas driveway. It was there for 2 days before my dog wandered down there and refused to leave that cage. Some asshole threw out two guinea pigs in below freezing temperatures. My dad brought them inside and they woke up. We had them for 4 years, and then gave them to someone else where they lived almost another 3 years. I think thats really old for them, they must have been very young.

This will get lost: but here's more pics of my new buddy: https://imgur.com/a/BlOtKoc

Still no name, but it might be Lemmiwinks. My roommate works for a waste management company and one of the garbage men found his cage crushed next to the dumpster with him trying to find food in the trash. She said it looked like someone threw the cage. She told me and I ran down with a cage. We found a really nice $85 cage on clearance for $40 and now he's got hiding spots, food, water, chewies, hay...

He's gonna get a buddy once our other pets are used to him but he's cuddling up with one of the dogs so that'll be soon. He's awesome so far and super chill.

Edit: when I bathed him I just rinsed him with warm water to get the gross off of him.
