Most people in this country aren't Christian. How can it be a "Christian country"?

Right wingers hide behind religion to mask their bigotry without realising their own hypocrisy. None of their "values" (I use the term very loosely) even align with Christianity or Islam or any other religion

This used to be a pagan country, when are the Christians going to assimilate?

Hey, remember that episode of Star Trek that's entirely about the prejudice that Picard holds towards the Borg as a foreign culture and about how the spooky, threatening foreigners aren't and on a individual basis will find common ground with you as a human being and find a mutual respect as long as you stop being a twat for five minutes? You know, it was one of the best episodes of the show because it's the one where the biggest goodie two-shoes in the show is shown to still be vulnerable to be prejudice and has to work through a real character flaw that can effect even the best of us but that one of the great promises of humanity is that we can find middle ground and cooperation with each other if we're simply willing to be open to it?
