I managed a theater construction project in NYC years ago, and the wealthy widow who donated enough to secure the naming rights had some of her late husband's ashes made into two 3" spheres like this one. She asked that they be embedded in the concrete of the main lobby upon completion of the building, and they're still there.

My mom did the same thing with my grandpa's ashes. Made a bunch of glass bead necklaces and gave them to all his biker friends. They cried manly tears.
