Avengers: Endgame may have been and gone, but we know this is far from the end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) ... Oh no, no, no.

Ant-Man 3 and Thor 4 have been confirmed for MCU phase four, if a source is to believed.

The Independent claims to have got this info from Roger Wardell, who they say 'has been hailed by Marvel fans as the most trusted source'.

The Thor 4 revelation comes as a bit of a surprise, given only this week Chris Hemsworth (who plays the titular character) said he was taking a break from acting to spend more time with his kids: a seven-year-old daughter called Insia Rose and five-year old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha.

Speaking to Aussie newspaper, The Daily Telegraph, he said: "This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids.

"They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before."

Does this mean we could see someone else play Thor? Almost definitely not - let's not allow this speculation to get out of hand shall we?

But Mr Wardell didn't just tell The Independent about Ant-Man 3 and Thor 4, he also said that Marvel is developing Black Widow, The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2, Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

However, even if Mr Wardell is 'the most trusted source', we should try and contain our excitement for a month or so. Come the San Diego Comic Con from 18 to 21 July, we should know what we can expect for definite, as Marvel president Kevin Feige is expected to use this event to announce the studio's planned releases for 2020.

What we can definitely expect from the fourth phase is more LGBTQ+ representation. Recently, in a Reddit AMA, Marvel producer Victoria Alonso addressed the issue.

When asked about the addition of LGBTQ+ characters, she said: "I would feel honoured to have a member of the LGBTQ+ group represented in our films and I hope the future shows that.

"I can tell you we are actively working on making our universe as diverse and inclusive as we can. Be patient with us. We have a lot coming in the future."

We'll hold you to that, Victoria.

One of the things I'm really excited to see Ant-Man 3 is Scott's and Cassie's relationship. Lang was in the Quantum Realm for five years on Cassie's time but only a few hours (I think that's how long it was) from Scott's perspective There are so many compelling routes they could go with it. Personally, I would love to see them build off Cassie's desire to be a super-hero in Ant-Man & The Wasp now that she's older. Endgame has really opened lots of interesting narrative possibilities and I trust that whoever makes the film will do it justice.

Extra important information from the article:

But Mr Wardell didn't just tell The Independent about Ant-Man 3 and Thor 4, he also said that Marvel is developing Black Widow, The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2, Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

Mr Wardell is a very good source, as well. He got some plot points (like Thor being fat and the Stan Lee cameo) absolutely spot on months before Endgame came out.
