My father has never said he’s sorry in my entire life. Not to me. Not to my mom or my sister. Emotions that once flowed so easily are now as stone. I pity him.
I didn’t realize my parents didn’t know what the hell they were doing until I was 35 with a kid of my own. I always thought they just inherently knew the right and only way to handle things. In reality they were just larger kids fumbling through life the same way I was. I really wish they would have expressed that to me... Before my 30’s.
