Redmi has been teasing its Redmi K20 for several weeks now, but the company has finally revealed all at a launch event in China. And we’ve actually got two phones, namely the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.

Starting with the Redmi K20 Pro, it offers a rather fetching glass back, as well as a full-screen 6.39-inch OLED display (2,340 x 1,080) with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The full-screen design is enabled thanks to a 20MP pop-up camera, with Redmi claiming it pops up in 0.8 seconds. In a nice touch, Redmi adds that you can also choose from one of six pop-up sounds.

It wouldn’t be a flagship without impressive core specs, but the brand indeed confirmed a Snapdragon 855 chipset and a 4,000mAh battery with 27 watt fast charging. The company says fast charging will take the device to 100 percent in 73 minutes. Other notable features include Game Turbo 2.0, USB-C, NFC support, and a 3.5mm earphone port.

Switching to the triple rear camera setup, we already know that the main shooter is a 48MP camera (Sony IMX586, f/1.75). But the firm has also confirmed an 8MP 2x telephoto sensor (f/2.4 ) as well as a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera (124.8 degree field of view).

Xiaomi’s website has also confirmed several other features following publication of this article. These include shortcuts via the fingerprint sensor, a standard 18 watt charger in the box, dual-frequency GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0.

The Redmi K20 Pro will be available in red and blue gradient colorways, as well as a “carbon fiber black” option. Xiaomi’s phone starts at 2,499 yuan (~$362) for the 6GB/64GB model, 2,599 yuan (~$376) for the 6GB/128GB variant, 2,799 yuan (~$405) for the 8GB/128GB model, and 2,999 yuan (~$434) for the 8GB/256GB variant. Redmi is also selling a gamepad attachment for 179 yuan (~$26), attaching to the left side of the device.

Xiaomi’s vanilla Redmi K20 looks very similar to the Pro model, but it’s a step below the Pro model in several areas. The key differences are a Snapdragon 730 chipset, a 48MP IMX582 main camera (a new Sony sensor?), and 18 watt fast charging. Otherwise, the standard K20 also packs a 13MP ultra wide shooter, an 8MP depth sensor telephoto sensor, and a 4,000mAh battery.

The vanilla K20 starts at 1,999 yuan (~$289) for the 6GB/64GB model, while the 6GB/128GB variant is available for 2,099 yuan (~$304).

Redmi also revealed a price for the recently revealed Redmi 7A. The model, which offers a Snapdragon 439 chipset and p2i splash-proof coating, starts at just 549 yuan (~$79) for the 2GB/16GB variant, and 599 yuan (~$87) for the 2GB/32GB option.

Damn. This phone delivers almost everything r/Android could ever ask for. With such a low price, I wonder what's the catch?

This is something that really stands out to me: it costs $14 to step up from the 64GB variant to the 128GB variant (of the pro version). What other manufacturer has such reasonable storage upgrade prices for what is, effectively, a high end phone?
