That's what my little sister did in the early 90s in Greece. My father is from Greece and we spent almost every summer there. The shore was mostly clean but the part of the bay, where the wind arrived was full of plastic bottles, old fisher nets, cigarettes. Just so much waste and it looked awful. She couldn't stand it so she cleaned the whole area with the help of our family. This was basically before anyone there cared about environmental pollution (and I think partly, to this day). She was laughed at by bystanders and made fun of "what is she doing? Tomorrow it will look the same." there was no understanding and so much ignorance. I'm so proud of my sister.
