I recently had a conversation with one of them. He was a combat veteran and is now a militia member and multiple gun owner. Turns out that he's adopting a "wait for other people to fix it using words and laws" attitude toward the tyranny that he sees in the country. But he has guns to fight tyranny. But the tyranny happening right now isn't enough to get him to use his guns. You know what he said would? If you tried to take his guns away, he'd use his guns to stop you.
So he has guns ... so that he can shoot you if you try to take his guns ...
