There's no tactics. They just don't have a clue how normal healthy people start and maintain a relationship. The sad thing is most of them are so removed from healthy social behavior and activities that there is no hope for them to ever learn.

They take steps with their current knowledge, get rejected because it's not appealing (or downright disgusting and scary) and miss on the chance to see a different pattern, learn healthier habits, and start learning how the real world works.

These people are mentally ill, not prepared for society (apart from working a job and paying taxes) and ostracized (because of their behavior at first, then also because of meme culture).

I'm not defending them: using insults and threats can't be excused. But still, I'm also a bit sad for them.

And because self-worth is often earned through activities and social validation, they don't have anything to show for it, so they latch on abstract values that are easy to pretend to and hard to disprove without real-world example to compare to: being nice and smart.
