Aw! Even before the finale, I wouldn't have called her a "trash bag." She's a little inappropriate sometimes, and drinking at work isn't super great (lol). But generally she's shown to be compassionate, honest, laid-back, and funny!
She forgave Michael for hitting her with his car She didn't lie about the steak coupons (and then shared the steaks!) She was the only person legitimately happy to see Michael and DeAngelo handing out Dundees invites. When Pam lied about the lice, Meredith was upset at first and then forgave her. Because she knows being a mom is hard! Beer and karaoke seems like a pretty cool thing to ask of the person who wrongfully shamed her in front of her coworkers.
Meredith doesn't have much (Vienna Sausages and napkins!) but she consistently shares what she has with her friends. That's not trashy at all imo :)
