Ted Levine was my dad’s roommate when he made this film. It’s weird because I had been to his house when I was a little kid. At that time I only knew him as the bowling ball guy from Flubber and then I saw Silence of the Lambs and was like “shit that’s Ted.” My dad was saying that he wasn’t even invited to the Oscars and was back building decks the next day with my dad and other actors. He didn’t get much recognition at the time but that character now is just like engrained in cinema and is still talked about.
