As an avid beach goer I actually don't think this is a very good set up. Most of the sand that ends up on your blanket comes from your feet, so what is this accomplishing? A regular flat blanket can be easily shaken or brushed off. A blanket with walls seems like a nightmare.
Perhaps the real goal of this set up is to keep the baby inside the perimeter?
