When these young people get old they won't have retirement savings either. It'll probably end up being a big issue in 50 years.

But the thing is in most Asian families kids and parents live together or in the same neighborhood well into their 30s and the whole family helps each other out financially. So idk if this study factored in stuff like that.

Last I heard, a large percentage of people over forty don’t have any funds or plans for retirement anyway, regardless of having children or not.

I guess it’s easier to blame the kids than the fact that pensions and retirement are relics of the past anymore, and fewer people are in a position to properly invest in retirement.

My grandparents were absolutely set when they retired (teacher and a car salesman). My mom is still teaching at 68 because she can’t afford to retire and won’t take money from my brother and I until she has to.
