On my 18th birthday my mom almost died but I went to school ‘cause I didn’t want to sit alone in the cottage we were staying in. I pulled my teacher aside before we started class and just explained to her what had happened and she was so kind and understanding. She understood that I wouldn’t really be there mentally but that I needed a distraction and I’m so grateful for that
I had my Auntie die the day before my lab midfinals and my “professor” refused to let me reschedule it. It was his policy to not reschedule... I passed the class and the midfinal but fuck that man in the ass with a cactus.
