My 8 year old daughter is autistic, but she's doing so well that she no longer needs an IEP. As soon as she was taken off the IEP, though, she stopped being allowed to see the occupational therapist or use OT materials in the classroom. We found out later that our daughter's teacher bought stress balls, microplush toys, and a weighted blanket for our daughter to use in class.
Teachers like you and her are a gift for our children that too many parents take for granted. I hope you know you are valued, and your work and selflessness are appreciated.
