The Daily Populous Friday March 22nd, 2019 morning edition
In The Lord of the Rings, the filmmakers used a special lighting rig for Galadriel so that her eyes appear to reflect the starlight. This is because Galadriel is the last Elf in Middle-Earth to have seen the light of the Trees of Valinor.
Can somebody give a bit of context for the people who haven't read the books? What's with the light of those Trees?
Edit: to be honest, I just realized I was pretty ignorant about LOTR. I saw the movies and liked them, but never touched the books because I thought "Well, I saw the movies, so I know too much to really enjoy the books." Reading your comments, makes me want to buy them tomorrow. I think I'll do that, it sounds that I missed a lot of good narration.
Edit Edit: Alright, people telling me now that I should start with the Hobbit. I'll do that fellows!

I read somewhere that she is older than the moon (or sun) itself.
