Amazon is getting pretty bad. It didn't use to be like this, but it's like it's competing with alibaba for most chinese knockoff and fake listings. A good example is lightbulbs. If you want LED lightbulbs from amazon, you have to pluck out reputable ones from 5000 listings of wefun and tongful and other brands that are inconsistently labeled. Even picking out a reputable brand is no guarantee as often the listing has multiple sellers, and the sellers might put bootleg products in the box.

Amazon returns is really good, so at least there's that. I've never had a problem returning something. But the fact that there isn't any policing over what is listed. shopping on amazon is a pain in the nuts now; especially when shopping for items that have specific fitments (exhaut pipes, tubing, hardware of all kinds, etc) just don't have dimensions. not to mention product pictures that are clear photoshops and nothing like the product you receive.

I'm upgrading my house and I have to buy things like bathroom mirrors, and faucet fixtures, sinks, shower hardware, mixing valves. Good luck trying to buy the stuff on amazon, even if it's lower priced because half of the listings are chinese brands without measurements and the other half is name brands with no information.

I wind up buying more things from home depot's website because I can get measurements; hell even ebay because at least the people selling their give enough of a shit to include more than one fuzzy photoshopped picture and include a description longer than 1 sentence most of the time.

If I didn't use amazon video quite often I would have ditched prime already.
