For Trump it's not about combating ACTUAL issues as much as it making himself look good to his base. That's why he placed travel bans on some countries while ignoring others that were doing significant business with the United States.
The lack of a travel ban on Saudi Arabia in particular is very telling that he couldn't care less about stopping Muslims from entering the country. Just as much as he couldn't care less about having a wall to stop illegal immigrants from entering the United States. It only became an issue when the Democrats started gaining more power after the last election.
Edit: Not that I think stopping immigration or travel bans are actual issues that need to be considered to begin with, this is just some food for thought for those that actually are bigoted that support him. Grammar fix as well.
