My parents pawned us off on Grandma and Grandpa New Year's Eve. But, it was a great get together with the cousins. Grandma and Grandpa let us stay up until actual midnight and we would play different contests through the night. The only one I remember though is kneeling on a chair trying to drop clothes pins into a jar.

This has become a lot more difficult to do with the abundance of tablets, phones, game consoles and such that give away the time
