Politics aside, you’re a complete asshole if you suddenly provoke and unnecessarily demonize your relatives on a holiday just because you have different opinions.
Had the whole family over for Christmas. Father in law in a gun owning republican and my dad is a very liberal union guy. They talked fishing and racing and god knows what else for hours. They get along great.
