To be clear, 100 companies globally, mostly unregulated power companies it looks like in the middle East, China, and Russia.

I don't like arguments like this. Individuals can still make a difference. That's like saying no one should bother donating to charity. Sure, a handful of donations won't flip a switch and make the world a perfect place, but it's still important. Making personal decisions to help fight climate change, and holding large companies accountable, are not mutually exclusive actions.
