I think the whole balance/unbalance thing is a representation or metaphor for sin. Originally there were no Sith only Jedi like how in the Bible originally there was no sin. The Sith represent the unholy/forbidden knowledge and ways of the force. To eliminate them would be to eliminate the forbidden knowledge of the force.

No, like really, that's what I loved growing up with the stories of the Jedi and the Sith. That whole topic of balancing Light and Dark, Good and Evil, Right and Wrong - how you define those still amazes me, after so many years. I don't know why, I just felt like commentating my thoughts under this meme.
Nobody wants to point out that the one on the right is technically balanced? If you have two equal objects on either side of a scale then the scale is balanced.
