Ocasio-Cortez is considered to be a rising progressive star in the Democratic Party, and, at 28, became the youngest woman elected to Congress last month.

She's drawn attention for being increasingly outspoken in the weeks after she earned a New York House seat. Among other things, she's called for more young people to run for Congress, saying it is key for the body to “represent the American people."

“Frankly, if we're not in the halls of Congress, then Congress isn't working, which is why we need way more young people in office,” she said. Ocasio-Cortez has also confirmed that she will pay her interns at least $15 an hour.

It's really not worth comparing yourself to Paul Ryan, no matter who you are. Very few people would be unable to demonstrate that they're better than him.

He was an empty vessel for Koch Industry interests. His 'policy wonk' status was shown to be a complete sham by being unable to come up with an alternative healthcare plan in eight years (of course, he didn't really want an alternative, he just didn't want poor people to have access to healthcare). His fiscal conservatism was shown to be a sham when he signed off on tax cuts for billionaires that would explode the deficit. His integrity and 'decency' were shown to be complete shams when he whined about civility, while his PAC was putting out disgusting, racist ads and his party were plotting to corrupt democracy in states around the country.

Paul Ryan is a fucking joke, and should be remembered as such. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is already better than him, by simple virtue of the fact nothing she's done so far has actively hurt Americans.

Ryan’s main goal was fiscal responsibility in government, and in all the time he’s been in Congress, he has failed Horribly at it.

AOC’s main goal is exposing corporate corruption of our government , which she has already done substantially and she hasn’t even made it to the house yet!

Given that, those labels should probably be switched

If Ocasio is a "fraud" then what is someone who can't spell smoking and why should they have any power?
