For advance knowledge the picture is legit. He is going through a KCM portal (Known Crew Member) at the airport. Based on the rest of his uniforms and his wings he is most likely with AA, though not 100% sure.
I have known other guys who got wild linings put in there uniforms over in Asia (usually Shanghai) and it’s not as expensive as you would think.
Airline pilots are forced to retire at age 65, and most guys at that point are ready to enjoy life and go do there thing. Usually family members join them on this flight, so it’s an awesome experience if you happen to be part of that crew.

It must be anxiety-inducing to know this is your pilots last flight.
Especially if he says it’s his last flight and forgets to mention he’s retiring.
