Reminds me of that time the UK implemented porn filters, and among the blocked websites were those of MPs and organisations who supported those filters, since said websites were filled with mentions of porn.
One day, tumblr is going to be taught in business school as an example of how to shoot yourself in the foot. Actually, that's too precise a metaphor; this is more like chopping your own foot off with a rusty hacksaw. It's messy, loud, and painful, and they have more than enough time to realize what they're doing is a bad idea and stop... but they just keep hacking away.
