Ok so it isn't just me that has noticed the standard lights on cars getting much brighter. And since everyone is buying SUVs that sit high, and I drive a sports car that sits low, those high beams are right at my eye level.
I have a story for this. I drove Limos before I moved and as you can imagine I was always out at night working.
One night I'm going up highway 74 in NC towards uptown Charlotte and there's a car in the left lane who turns his high beams on because he thinks the car in front of him is far enough away but he was blinding me out of my side mirror. The car in front of him was actually a work truck, one of those big box-y ones with the tool boxes down the side and the ladder racks on top. This truck just so happened to have a spotlight on the back and he had a switch in the cab for it.
After a minute or two of the car having his high beams on the truck driver flipped his spotlight and it was honestly one of the brightest things I've ever seen. It was facing directly back at the car with his high beams on. He turned his high beams off real fast after that. Made me chuckle quite a bit.
