The parents of my ex actually did this. There was a photo on their wall of my then boyfriend and me. When we split up, they cut the picture into half and removed my half. How do I know that? Well, we came back together shortly after and I saw it. As soon as they found out we're back together, they hung the part of the photo with me on it again. Seems like they had kept my photo in a drawer - just in case.
True story: When my wife and I first started dating, she went with me to my sister's wedding. In the photos, she purposely hid off to the side behind one of my relatives because she didn't think we'd be together very long.
Little did she know, I caught her in my web and she's been mine for ten years!
