Michael Moore said Fox News is partly to blame for helping to create a generation of violent conspiracy theorists in America.

The filmmaker’s criticism of the conservative network came after an image of his face in crosshairs was found stickered on the van of suspect Cesar Sayoc, who is accused of mailing pipe bombs this week to leading Democrats, critics of President Donald Trump and CNN.

“Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News Channel and right-wing radio have preyed upon those who’ve seen their American Dream go up in smoke,” Moore said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “And they have helped to create a generation of angry and violent conspiracy theorists who will believe any lie that is perpetrated on those airwaves.”

Moore lamented that the “new and dangerous dynamic of political violence” in the U.S. was “now promoted and encouraged” by Trump. He also called for people to “vote out of office all enablers of this man and the violent culture he instigates and nurtures.”

Don’t forget Rush Limbaugh. When my dad isn’t in front of a television watching Fox News he’s in his truck listening to right wing radio.

Let's not forget AM talk radio (Limbaugh..) and internet lunatics like Alex Jones.

The right wing is an enormous bubble that drags you in if you live in rural America without you noticing it. Go to the barber shop - FOX is on. Commuting over longer distances or driving trucks? AM radio with 6+ hours of right wing "talk" (= some asshole on coke yelling conspiracies into the mic) is your only reception. Coming home at night, all your friends and relatives who had the same daily experience pour them out on Facebook.

And so all the feedback loops get repeated. A couple of years of this and you KNOW in your heart of hearts that the Clintons are baby-eating satanists and that Trump is the second coming of Christ. Your intellectual faculties have been reduced to clapping like a seal as soon as the color red comes on. You've actively but subconsciously chosen to not think critically about anything anymore.

The important thing is: This bubble has a very strong pull, one you don't realize until it is too late. Because in the end it doesn't matter how you arrived at MAGA, that tacky gold idol, be it because you didn't want to play women in video games, because you didn't get a girlfriend, because you bought all of Jordan Peterson's books, because you found Hannity "entertaining", because your pastor told you that Trump would save you, because you loved country music and the station you would get that also screamed agains democrats and immigrants.. In the end, you're in that bubble and you simply cannot accept that reality might be different and that anybody with a good heart (like yourself) would chose not to live in it.

Michael Moore's face with a sniper's cross hair over it is on the side of the MAGABomber's van, by the way.
