Fun fact vampire were said not to appear in their reflection because mirrors in those days were lined with silver as the reflective material behind the glass and silver was said to have special alchemical properties that warded against vampires. Modern mirrors are typically lined with aluminum so vampires may see their reflection. Whether or not they recognize the person they see in the mirror is a more psychological debate.
