Fall morning commutes in New England are the best. The sun shines through the morning mist that rises from the fields and lakes, and all around are the beautiful golds, greens, and reds of the trees. I spend the extra time to go through the back roads.

Tech Info:

Nikon D600 Nikon 24-120 f/4 VR 120mm f/9 1/8 ISO 50 77mm CPL

Imported in lightroom, made initial adjustments to exposure and camera calibration there. Edited in Photoshop w/luminosity masks and and some dodge/burn layers.

Slightly outdated foliage map for those who care basically, all the places in peak up north (baxter, rangely, millinocket etc) are just past peak now, still very very beautiful. Places coastal and downeast like Acadia will be in peak the next few days. Overall, now is probably the best time for leaf peeping.

Location wise this was taken close to Orono/Old Town in Maine. Not a well known spot or anything, just a random pull-off that a friend and I discovered. Find a calm day (need low or no wind for good reflections) and drive/walk along a river/pond in the hour before sunset, or after sunrise and you can find some pretty beautiful spots nearly anywhere.

I post shots of Acadia and Maine in general pretty frequently on my instagram and website:
