A wise man once said, "The North Cascades are the Swiss Alps of Washington." Having now visited both, I can confirm that this description is accurate. This past weekend, we visited North Cascades National Park to hunt for larches and we were not disappointed! Pictured is Black Peak with hundreds of stunning larches scattered along its slopes.

I've lived in Washington for 4 years now, and this was my first trip to this jaw dropping section of the park. It is a fairly long drive from Seattle (3 hours) but it is 100% worth the time and effort. Right now, the beautiful transition between fall and winter is apparent and the sights are just truly stunning. It is not too late to make the trip before Highway 20 closes until late spring!

Shot Info: Nikon D7500 with 18-400 Tamron Lens, 58mm, f/9, ISO 400, 1/320s.
