My town has a petting zoo,for rehabilitated animals who can’t live in the wild. I volunteered(and I still help out in an unofficial capacity) there and one of the other volunteers is an elderly man who spends 3-4 hours a day sitting and brushing the goats,cows,and rabbits. He knows the name of every single animal that is there,and when mama goats come to us it only takes him a day or two to get them to trust him. Plus the baby goats will nap on his lap for ages. That old dude is the epitome of what I want to be when I’m elderly.
