Looks like a lot of estate gatehouses that you see around Scotland. Even the doorman got a fancy ass house on these estates back in the day.

My husband and I shared your sentiment we purchased a charming stone house in the country, then proceeded to go broke on renovations.
On the upside when I’m old and destitute, I’ll be like a witch from the fairytales in my awesome stone house in the woods.
