Why does he always have strange, almost identified moments in and around airports?

In College I was valeting for a hotel. This was a lazy Sunday afternoon shift and I was hungover. Suddenly this nondescript white minivan pulls up with like 5 grown men in it. Guy in the passenger seat gets out and I ask him if they were going to valet and he shrugs and says yeah, sure. I walk around the back of the van where they are all starting to unload. I open up the trunk of the minivan which is packed with their bags and like 6 skateboards. I think huh, thats cool. I turn to the same guy from before who is standing right next to me and casually ask, "huh, cool. Are you guys like skateboarders or something?". He stares blankly at me for about 2 seconds and half chuckles and says, "yeah".

During the pause I started to feel as though he looked familiar. After he confirms that they are indeed "skateboarders or something", it dawns on me. In an awed voice I ask, "Are you Tony Hawk?". In the same tone from before he says, "yeah". At this point my brain is essentially scrambled and I mutter half under my breath the only thing I am capable of in that moment, "Thats awesome".

He goes inside and I quickly get their car put away. I then go into the front desk to ask why they didn't tell me Tony Fucking Hawk was coming in and they basically tell me that we (the idiot college students who occupy my position) couldn't be trusted and they didn't want us spreading it around. Fair point cause I told everyone. To add insult to injury, his tour bus rolled up 30 minutes later with TONY HAWK written in 10 foot letters across the side and parked directly across from me for the rest of the day. So thats how I met a childhood hero and proceeded to ask him and his friends if they were "Skateboarders or something"
