Not to be a bummer (because this is adorable), but this reminded me of the saddest photo I've ever seen on the internet. It was a dead body underneath a tarp, at a crime scene or traffic accident or something, and the guy's dog was curled up on the pavement next to the body.
Every once in awhile I think of that photo and it just makes me all kinds of sad.
Meanwhile my dog once ran through a hole in a fence while I was doing recall training, then I tripped in the dark following him and ended up laying on the ground in agony while he ran around with our only light source attached to his harness sniffing things.
I love him, but he's not great at showing empathy for people in pain.
