Where that beautiful greenish/blue hue in the river comes from is one of my favorite little facts to share. It's created by a higher amount of rock flour(silt sized particles of rock), in the river created by glaciers slowly grinding rock away. The addition of the rock flour to the water makes the light refract differently than other water. Some of the explorers in the past believed lakes that color flowed from the fountain of youth due to such a beautiful color.

It looks like a miniature version of Ireland's Giants Causeway. It must be similar stone.
