That has to be blisteringly comforting that he has recognition like that so early. Good luck little homie.

When I was three (~1993), I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition that required my mom and I to go to the Children's Hospital in Boston, MA.

When my mom talks about it, she talks about me being so sick and how awful the tests were to watch. She talks about how all the charities that help kids wouldn't help me because I didn't have something well-known, and how the local community helped get me to Boston.

All I've ever remembered was the plane, the Taxi, and the MRI machine. It never left me with any psychological impact, so much so that I actually forgot I had a metal implant in me at a science center, and something weird happened to me during a wireless electricity demonstration (heart palpitations I think...) There were signs at the door saying for people with metal implants not to come inside, but I didn't even think about it.

So, as scary as this is... Maybe he won't really remember it as frighteningly as you will.

Coincidentally, I also had a T-rex. It was a plush of Barney, but still. My mom has kept it ever since then.
