I tried to post this to wholesome memes yesterday but someone random beat me to it. I’m repenting and coming back to r/comics streets I grew up on. Please forgive me for my disloyalty
I pulled off something similar. My wife and I play Final Fantasy XIV a lot. She plays on a desktop with her back to me and I play on a laptop on the couch. In the game I had my avatar propose to her avatar. She got all choked up just about how cute that was, but before she could turn around, I was on my knee behind her with a ring. When she turned around I said, "Do you want to marry me in real life, too?" The topper on our wedding cake was an 8-bit white mage and black mage with a heart in the middle.
