TULSA -- A petition that is seeking to get a vote State Question 797, which would legalize recreational marijuana, on the November 2018 ballot is nearing its goal of signatures.

State Question 797 seeks to allow anyone 21 years old or over "to legally possess, use, grow, process and sell marijuana and derivatives within the rules set by the Oklahoma Cannabis Commission."

Green The Vote is also pushing to get State Question 796 on the ballot, which would allow marijuana to be classified as an herbal drug to be regulated by the Oklahoma Cannabis Commission.

"Oklahoma SQ 796 legalizing medical marijuana when enacted will allow the possession, use, growth, processing and sale of medical marijuana and derivatives to those licensed to do so."

SQ 796 has received 93,785 signatures as of Sunday.

The group is working to get to 125,000 signatures for each petition by Aug. 1.

For anyone that hasn't been following Oklahoma's marijuana vote, you've been missing out on a real shit show. Recreational Marijuana being so close to being on the ballot is a reaction to Oklahoma fucking up everything about their medical marijuana laws AFTER the vote.

Medical get passed.

Board of Health guts the law after the vote. No smokable marijuana, must have a pharmacist at all dispensaries, among other things

Law suits against the State because of changes.

Oklahoma Attorney General says Board of Health doesn't have the authority to change the laws

Health Department Attorney is caught sending herself theatening messages pretending to be marijuana supporters.

State pharmacy board director is caught offering the same attorney her position if she helps pass the previously mentioned changes to the law. This should really be at the top of the list but this list is in chronological order of events

Happy this progressed faster than I thought. Not Oklahoma specifically just in general, between the fact that I got my card in NJ for Anxiety alone, to recreational coming likely end of this year/beginning next year, I couldn't be happier. This is great news for all.

Going from a near decade of buying meh to okay to great weed over the years from sketchy ass people, to driving down to the store and stocking up on high quality bud like I'm fucking grocery shopping. Didn't think we'd get this for yearss.

As a Texan, I really hope this passes.
